Mapping the Pandemic: A Critical and Creative Cartography
Undergraduate Honors Thesis In this semester long thesis, I analyzed spatial media literacy through critical engagement with maps of COVID-19 and explored creative cartographies and counter mapping practices as a way to make sense of concurrent crises. My final output was an ArcGIS Hub site with text and multimedia, including the 2 storymaps below on Isolation Psychogeography and Critical Cartography.

I am a fine artist with eighteen years experience painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and crafting broadly. From 2013 to 2019, I sold handmade greeting cards, earrings, bookmarks, and frypan cozies at the annual Common Ground Country Fair in Maine. Recently, I began printing a collection of transsexual erotica paintings on cards, as well as iron-on transfers with which I've made t-shirts and custom tote bags. Next year I intend to table my work in Vancouver, selling at local art markets because I especially enjoy in-person exchanges.

I am a classically trained violist with fifteen years experience learning and playing folk music by ear. I have participated in numerous orchestras including Lexington High Repertoire, Lexington High Symphony, Lexington High Chamber, UMass Symphony, Hilltop Circus Band, and Lexington Pit Orchestra. As member of Lexington High's acclaimed Chamber Orchestra I premiered Trinity, an experimental piece commissioned for us, at Boston’s Jordan Hall. I also participated in the 2017 Northeastern Junior Districts Orchestra where I was first stand. I have taught viola to middle schoolers and have played solo Christmas concerts at my local nursing home. I recently transposed my skills fiddling on the viola to the violin and mandolin so that I can jam with my friends.
